A few years ago, I was out mowing on a sunny day when a huge shadow blocked the sun and passed over me. It was so large that I ducked thinking that a jet was flying too low and about to crash. When I looked up, I saw a blue heron flying off to the north.
Blue Herons weigh around 4-6 lbs. but their wing span is 6-7 ft. They are huge birds, but there's just nothing to them weight-wise. However, they make a huge shadow when they fly at just the right angle.
Problems sometimes appear like this in our lives. Because they like to block our view of "The Son", they appear so much larger and weighty than they really are when they are, in reality, no more than that Blue Heron flying over my head.
“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
I like this verse in the Amplified Version. If I was a Bible, that is most assuredly what version I would be. LOL! Ask anyone who knows me. Ha!
Today, I am thankful that for God, my problems are no bigger than a Blue Heron, even when to me, they look so much larger.
