Welcome to Atypical Pastor's Wife!
APW is going through a bit of a metamorphosis. My prayer is that when it's completed, it will be a place that gives wings to others to be free in who God has made them, in spite of all the things that would try to define us and keep us trapped in a cocoon of self-doubt and undeserved shame.
Although we are not currently in ministry, the lessons learned over nearly 40 years of ministry, and a graduate degree from the School of Hard Knocks, have brought me to the place I am now. I am thankful. Even though some were hard and a few nearly killed me, I now have a better understanding of my wonderful Lord and a deep compassion for those who are struggling, either as a Christian or one who does not yet know the Lore. The Lord has truly taught me to soar above and has given me an abiding peace, no matter what is going on around me. I know that He is completely trustworthy, thus I am not anxious about tomorrow.
I'm a "Mimi" to 7 grandchildren, a "Modge" to 4 children, and a wife to a man that I truly respect and adore. I have 3 silly, slobbery dogs who like to druel in my bed, make me laugh, and melt my heart. Until recently, I was a Facebook Administrator for Compel Training Devotional Writing Group. Now I spend my days as a church secretary. In my spare time, I blog, walk in nature, knit, read, and take every country road I have never been on. God has put me in a beautiful part of the USA and we love exploring every single corner of it.
